Privacy

Simple data use, explained clearly.

Daycare Signal is designed to work without an account. We use only the information needed to provide search, local preferences and optional email alerts.

Public childcare data

Facility names, addresses, contact details, program information and availability signals shown on Daycare Signal come from government or other public childcare sources. Daycare Signal does not sell or publish private parent information with these datasets.

Location

If you choose “Use my location,” your browser asks for permission. The selected coordinates and search radius can be stored in your browser so nearby results continue to work. If you create a location-based email alert, the selected coordinates and radius are also sent as part of the alert criteria so matching facilities can be calculated.

Email alerts

When you create an alert, Daycare Signal sends your email address and alert criteria to our email delivery provider, Resend. Alert criteria can include city, age group, funding filter, radius, selected coordinates and language. Alerts do not start until the confirmation link is used. You can unsubscribe using the link in an alert email.

Privacy-friendly analytics

When enabled, Daycare Signal uses Umami Cloud for page views and a limited set of product actions. Analytics is configured without analytics cookies, cross-site tracking or persistent user identifiers. URL search parameters are excluded from automatic analytics, and analytics events are not stored persistently in your browser. We do not send email addresses, form text, raw search text or precise location coordinates as product event data.

What we do not do

  • We do not require an account to browse childcare.
  • We do not sell personal information to advertisers.
  • We do not publish your email address or selected location with childcare data.
  • We do not guarantee or reserve childcare spaces.
